Rachel is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Durham, N.C. She is proud to be from a dynamic city with a vibrant artistic community. Rachel brings new life to the singer-songwriter tradition by pairing powerhouse vocals with inventive piano melodies. Her soulful and heartfelt voice brings her lyrics to the forefront of her songs. Rachel’s lyrics are largely influenced by the folk tradition of deep reflection and appreciation for the natural world. She blends these elements with light electronic tones and catchy melodies to bring a pop twist to her sound. With her songs, she hopes to inspire an excavation of the the human spirit and bring greater meaning to the lives of others. 


Rachel is currently studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studies music and geography. She is passionate about community engagement and combining her love of music with her dedication to social justice. In her free time, she teaches music lessons with Musical Empowerment and works on bringing the arts into the community with Carolina Performing Arts.
